A Winter Dream Weekend at Bürgenstock Resort

Dec 12, 2025Emanuele D'Angelo

As the year comes to a close, we’ve been looking back at the moments that shaped our 2025, and our last event of the year feels especially close to our hearts.

Before the holiday rush began, we gathered with our community for a winter tennis escape at Bürgenstock Resort, a place that feels like it exists slightly above the rest of the world.

The Tennis Setting: A Winter Dreamscape

Bürgenstock in November is something truly different: crisp air, silent mornings, and that soft Alpine light that makes everything feel cinematic. For many of our guests arriving from London, Dubai, Kuwait, Milan, and Geneva, it was their first time experiencing tennis in a setting like this.

But what truly made this year feel unforgettable was the snow. Honestly, playing inside the Diamond Domes while snow drifted outside is something we’re still thinking about. The visibility of your breath as you walked in and the contrast between the silent winter landscape with the energy on the court gave every rally a kind of cinematic intensity. These are the tennis moments we chase: the ones that reflect not just where you play, but how you feel in that exact instant.

A Warm Alpine Welcome

Guests slowly filtered in through the afternoon, settling into their rooms and exploring the resort path. The rooms had balconies where you can admire the unbelievable view above Lake Lucerne. It’s the kind of arrival that lets you exhale.

That evening, we gathered at Verbena Restaurant for a welcome dinner. We started with a glass of Prosecco before moving into a beautiful three-course dinner. The starter was a Luma beef tartare layered with wild herbs, quail egg, and a soft brioche. The main was a pan-fried pike perch paired with a rich bean cassoulet and warm notes of chorizo. And dessert, a pear and cinnamon creation, felt like the essence of autumn on a plate. It was elegant without being overly formal, comforting without being heavy, and exactly what we needed after traveling in.

Snow, Tennis & Adventure

After breakfast, we headed back to the Diamond Domes for our morning session. Three full hours of movement, laughter, competitive doubles, and the kind of chaotic 4-on-4 match that was so much fun. Warm-ups turned into friendly rivalries, and as the snow thickened outside, the energy inside the dome just got better.

It’s rare to play tennis in a scene that feels this theatrical, and even rarer to play with a group that gels so quickly and so naturally.

Post-tennis, everyone drifted back to their rooms for hot showers, fresh layers, and that blissful half hour of doing absolutely nothing. Then we regrouped for lunch before heading out on a winter hike. The trail was quiet, almost untouched, with soft snow underfoot. It grounded the day, a nice contrast to the intensity of the morning.

And then came the part everyone was waiting for: the spa. Warm pools, steam rooms, saunas glowing in the early evening light…

Bürgenstock does wellness at a level that’s hard to describe unless you’ve experienced it. The transition from cold air to warm water felt like a reset on every level.

At dinner, the conversation flowed easily. Tennis stories, travel stories, life updates. It was the kind of night that reminds you why these retreats feel more like gatherings of friends than structured events.

A Last Hit Before Goodbye

On our final morning, some of the group enjoyed a long breakfast overlooking the lake, while a few decided they weren’t quite done with the Diamond Domes. They booked one more private session with Julien, our friend and coach from Lux Tennis, for a last chance to take in that extraordinary setting before heading home.

And with that, our final event of the year came to a close. A winter capsule of memories and a community we’re grateful to keep growing.

Looking Ahead to 2026: A New Climate

Bürgenstock was our final chapter of 2025. A beautiful, snowy send-off to a year of movement, creativity, and unforgettable courts. And now, as we turn the page, the setting is about to change completely.

Next up: the tropics.
Paradise Courts moves into a new climate, and we can’t wait to share what’s coming.
