A Contemporary Haven Housed in History

Opened in 2023, The Rome EDITION is a testament to modern elegance amidst Rome's timeless beauty. Located near Via Veneto, the hotel is just steps away from iconic landmarks like the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and the Borghese Gardens. Housed in a historic palace originally designed by a pioneer of Rationalist architecture in Rome during the 1920s and 1940s, the building's transformation into a luxury hotel preserves its architectural essence.

With marble, boiserie, and metal accents, the design pays homage to the original structure, merging history with contemporary eleganceHere, guests can indulge in culinary delights at the show-kitchen restaurant, unwind in the courtyard garden, or sip cocktails at the rooftop bar and pool, all while enjoying panoramic views of the city.

Breakfast of (Actual) Champions

Check-in was smooth and seamless; we were graciously accommodated with early access to our room. The space itself exuded luxury—soft bathrobes, Le Labo bath products, and elegant finishes made it feel like a true retreat. The design strikes a perfect balance between modern minimalism and Roman elegance.

Downstairs at breakfast, the signature restaurant Anima buzzed with energy as guests mingled over coffee. We even spotted some familiar faces from the tour: Holger Rune, Alex de Minaur, and Katie Boulter were easing into their mornings, a slower start to the intensity that awaited these champions.

Walking through the lobby felt like walking through a curated gallery, every design choice thoughtfully considered. We took our coffees to the courtyard—a semi-urban oasis with orange trees and climbing ivy, feeling worlds away from the bustling city streets. With smooth music playing in the background, it was the perfect place to work on our laptops and soak in the atmosphere.

A Special Aperitivo: Celebrating Broken Rackets in Rome

We then prepared for an evening at The Punch Room, a hidden gem within the hotel, to celebrate the launch of the new limited edition Foro Italico print and the When in Rome tee. Its speakeasy ambiance was both inviting and exclusive—the perfect setting to be surrounded by great company and tailor-made drinks. Paloma, Margarita, and a tennis-inspired Sour quickly became our favorite. Perfectly crisp polpette and prosciutto on sourdough added to the experience, setting the stage for an unforgettable night. Thank you to the The Rome EDITION team for nailing every detail.

As the evening unfolded, we stepped out from the warm glow of The Punch Room and into the vibrant streets of Rome—where, as they say, life truly happens. It’s in the piazzas, the outdoor cafés, the lively conversations that spill out onto cobblestones. Our destination: Al Moro, one of our favorite spots in the city—a place steeped in history, where tennis legends like Jim Courier and Andre Agassi dined.

Everything You Need: Wellness, Views, and Relaxation

The next morning, we needed to burn off that pasta with a session in the gym—and no exaggeration, it's a stunning space. Spacious and fully equipped with the latest Technogym equipment, it’s meticulously maintained, offering everything from rowing machines to yoga mats and free weights. After the workout, head upstairs to the rooftop for a refreshing dip in the pool, taking in the panoramic views of the city. Relax in the sun and treat yourself to a well-deserved cold drink.

For tennis lovers exploring the Eternal City, The Rome EDITION is more than just a place to stay—it’s an experience that captures the spirit of Rome, both past and present.
