On a warm Saturday morning in Como, our community gathered for a morning of tennis — by invitation only. Two hours on court, good company, and the kind of day that earns its place in the calendar early.

We played at one of Como's most beautiful clubs. Clay courts that also host ATP Challenger events, set against the lake and the mountains behind it. The setting does the talking.Guests arrived and were handed Wilson tote bags with their full kit inside, already sorted by size: shoes, tops, skirts and shorts, ready to change and step straight onto court. Soon enough, everyone looked the part. The new Blade V10 racket was waiting at courtside — fresh strings, ready to be tested by anyone willing to go for their shots.

The session started with a proper warm-up with our two coaches. They read the room quickly, dividing the group by level with the kind of efficient, practiced eye that puts everyone at ease immediately. From there, the format kept things moving dynamically. From playing dingles to king of the court, rotating doubles, the sessions were designed to be competitive enough to care about, relaxed enough to laugh between points. What started as thirty strangers and mutual friends became, over two hours, something that felt more like a team.

When the courts cleared, the day opened up naturally. Some of the group stayed on for lunch together. Others drifted off to do their own thing — a gelato somewhere along the lakefront, a table at a café, the particular pleasure of wandering Como with no particular plan. Conversations that had started courtside continued over food. Numbers were exchanged.

Broken Rackets was built on a simple belief: that tennis, played in beautiful places with people who care about the game, is one of the better things you can do with a Saturday. Lake Como confirmed it again. The courts, the kit, the company, the lake in the distance — it added up to something that's hard to describe and easy to remember. If you weren't there, keep an eye on what's coming next. These days don't repeat themselves, but they do happen again. Join the membership and be part of our community.
